Who knew too much water could kill you??
We have been studying about our bodies and how we get cancer, how to take care of your body, and what is happening inside you. You probably have heard to drink lots of water all the time, to get as much as you can because its good for you. Well thats not true. We read an article and it told me about stories of when people drank too much water how it flooded their bodies and they died! One example was a woman who entered this contest to win a Nintindo Wii game set, it was called "Hold Your Wee for a Wii". She drank so much water and won the contest, then went home and died from being flooded. Drinking too much water is also not good for you kidneys because it will cause too much stress on them. When your kidneys aren't happy, you're not happy.
I am really glad we are studying this because I am a major athlete and I never truly cared about taking care of my body, but now that I am older and more serious, I am realizing what is good for me and what is bad. This is really helpful because now I know not to chug down water, or any beverage, or to not drink too much or too less.
Now you also know and are aware about the concerns of drinking too much water and hopefully you will be more cautious about that and take care of your body's fluids coming in and out.

Kidney Transplants
We read a very interesting and eye opening article about kidney transplants, but not just any kind of transplants, ones about if convicted felons should be allowed to get a transplant. At first I fully agreed with yes they should, because I believe everyone should be treated equal. But once I started reading the article it had very interesting points a bout why they should not. First it gave the point of, what if you had a love one who desperately needed that kidney but they you hear they gave it to someone in jail. I would be really upset I don't know about you. Also it was saying what if someone who did something really horrible, why would they deserve that kidney. I thought that was really interesting and that brought up some other points of should everyone be treated equal and forgiven. In the end I came to the conclusion of if someone in jail needs a transplant, it's not my sport to judge them and say weather they should or not, but I do believe if that felon is not in jail for life and has really wanted to change their life and they can benefit the community, then yes they should be allowed to get a kidney transplant.
